Fundació Puigvert↗︎
We take care of your prostate with maximum precision and minimal impact on your quality of life.
We are experts in the comprehensive approach to any prostate pathology, from benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) to prostate cancer, with specific circuits for private visits and second opinions.
Prostate cancer: early diagnosis and advanced robotic surgery
When we talk about prostate cancer, we refer to a malignant tumor that can grow within the prostate and, if untreated, spread to other parts of the body.
It often does not show symptoms in the early stages; therefore, it is crucial to monitor PSA levels, have regular check-ups, and assess any changes in urination, pain, or bleeding.
PSA is the Prostate-Specific Antigen, a protein produced almost exclusively by the prostate that can be measured with a blood test.
It serves as a marker: if the value is elevated, it may indicate a prostate problem (cancer, benign hyperplasia, or inflammation), although only a urologist can interpret it correctly based on age, prostate size, and other data.
How we will assist you:
Fast diagnostic pathways
(PSA, MRI, advanced prostate biopsy).
Assessment in a multidisciplinary committee to decide the best treatment for your case.

Robotic surgery
for prostate: a consolidated expertise
At Fundació Puigvert, we are pioneers in urological robotic surgery: in 2005 we performed the first robotic radical prostatectomy in Spain with the Da Vinci system, and since then we have carried out thousands of urological robotic interventions.
We currently have the two most advanced robotic systems (Da Vinci and HUGO) and our own Chair of Urological Robotic Surgery with UAB, which consolidates a stable program of training, research, and innovation in this technique.
This experience allows us to offer highly precise prostate surgeries:
- With minimal incisions.
- Less postoperative pain.
- Less blood loss.
- A faster recovery.
We focus on two objectives that are essential for you:
treating cancer and preserving urinary continence and sexual function as much as possible.
Benign prostatic hyperplasia: bothersome symptoms, but effective treatment
BPH is a benign enlargement of the prostate volume that is not cancer, but it can hinder urine flow and significantly affect daily life. It can cause bothersome urinary symptoms that can be treated if done properly.
We are leaders in the diagnosis and treatment of BPH, with a personalized approach aimed at improving quality of life and preventing complications.
How we study your case:
Clinical history and detailed physical examination.
Imaging tests and, if necessary, urodynamic studies to understand how the bladder works.
