If you have a public health card and want to be treated this way, your primary care team (CAP) or the specialist at your reference hospital will handle the referral according to your area.

Yes. If you have the individual health card (TSI) from CatSalut and your primary care doctor or specialist has referred you, you can be treated at the Fundació Puigvert within the public health system. The Fundació Puigvert is part of the comprehensive public health system of Catalonia (SISCAT) and is a reference center in urology, nephrology, andrology, and reproductive medicine.

The referral must always be managed by your primary care doctor or the specialist who usually treats you, never directly by the patient. This professional will assess your case and, if appropriate, will process the request for you to be seen at the Fundació Puigvert through public health.

Yes, it is possible. If you have a health card from another Autonomous Community, your referring doctor can request the referral for you to be treated at the Fundació Puigvert as a state reference center. In these cases, the request must always be initiated by the health system of your Autonomous Community, following its internal procedures.

Through CatSalut, the Fundació Puigvert offers specialized assistance in urology, nephrology, andrology, and reproductive medicine. In addition to treating common pathologies, the center is a reference for complex cases and programs such as kidney transplantation or certain CSUR units of the Ministry of Health.

Only in case of emergency. The Emergency Service of the Fundació Puigvert is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, for any emergency related to the center’s specialties. For scheduled visits (first visit or follow-ups), a referral and a confirmed appointment are always required.

You can manage inquiries about your appointment (changes, questions, cancellations) by filling out the contact form indicating that it is a CatSalut appointment, or by calling the appointment scheduling phone number for external consultations at the Fundació Puigvert. You will receive confirmation and a reminder of your appointment via SMS or other channels that the center usually uses.

The Fundació Puigvert provides public health assistance, in coordination with the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, to the population of the districts of Eixample, Horta-Guinardó, Gràcia, Sant Martí, and Sant Andreu in Barcelona. Additionally, it receives cases referred from other areas and autonomous communities due to its status as a reference center for complex pathologies.

Public assistance is funded by CatSalut and requires a referral from the public system, while private assistance (Barcelona Centre Privat) is managed directly with the patient or their private insurance. In both cases, care is provided by the same highly specialized teams in urology, nephrology, andrology, and reproductive medicine, adapting circuits and response times according to each access route.
