Any person residing in Spain who wishes to be treated at Fundació Puigvert can be seen privately, whether they have private health insurance or prefer to pay for the treatment directly. Private assistance is managed through the Barcelona Centre Privat (BCP), which organizes all medical and surgical activities not funded by CatSalut.

No referral from the primary care doctor or CatSalut is needed to access as a private patient. You can contact the Barcelona Centre Privat directly to request an appointment or a second medical opinion, either by phone or through the web form or email.

Yes. If you already know the professional you would like to see, you can indicate it when making the appointment request. If you have no preference, the team at the Barcelona Centre Privat will assess your case and assign you the most suitable specialist according to your health issue.

Only in case of emergency. The Emergency Service at Fundació Puigvert is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, for any emergency related to the center’s specialties. For scheduled visits (first visit or follow-ups), a referral and a confirmed appointment are always required.

Fundació Puigvert is a specialized monographic hospital in urology, nephrology, andrology, and reproductive medicine, both in general pathology and in high-complexity cases. Additionally, it has transversal care services (laboratory, radiodiagnostics, anesthesiology, 24/7 emergencies, specialized nursing, clinical psychology, etc.) that support all private activity.

The Emergency Service is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, for any emergency related to the specialties of Fundació Puigvert. Depending on your coverage (public, private insurance, or direct payment), the cost of care will be managed as CatSalut activity or as private assistance through BCP.

The Barcelona Centre Privat manages both patients with health insurance (although we do not have agreements with mutuals, it is possible to be seen if you have reimbursement coverage) and direct payment patients. During the admission process, you will be informed in advance about budgets, coverage, and possible authorizations that your insurer may require before proceeding with tests, interventions, or admissions.

The rooms at Fundació Puigvert – Barcelona Centre Privat are single, with separate areas for the patient and the companion, designed to ensure rest, privacy, and comfort. They have a sofa bed for the companion, telephone, private wifi, and Smart TV with national, international, sports channels, and on-demand content; there are both standard rooms and suites.
