Lluís Gausa Gascon

Dr. Lluís Gausa Gascon is the Medical and Care Director of Fundació Puigvert and a specialist in Urology, with extensive experience in clinical care, teaching, and healthcare management. In his managerial role, he ensures the quality and safety of clinical care, as well as compliance with the ethical and deontological standards of the institution, committed to the mission, vision, and reputation of the center.

He balances his managerial responsibilities with clinical activity as a urologist, addressing general urological pathology with special dedication to urological oncology — prostate and bladder cancer — benign prostatic hyperplasia, and prostatitis, with sensitivity to support in care processes. He preferentially applies minimally invasive surgical techniques both via percutaneous endoscopic and laparoscopic approaches. He has been a pioneer in the application of robotic surgery at the center and in the country, accredited since 2005 and an instructor of this technique.

• He has taught at the Faculty of Medicine of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) – Teaching Unit of the Hospital de Sant Pau, and has been a professor of the Master’s in Clinical Andrology and in other institutional teaching activities.

• He has been responsible for Teaching and Continuing Education at Fundació Puigvert, as well as a tutor for Urology Residents accredited by the Department of Health, and a member of various institutional clinical committees (Infectious Diseases, Safety and Quality, Clinical Ethics, Ethics and Clinical Research, Dangerous Drugs).

• Member of the Confederación Americana de Urología (CAU), the Asociación Española de Urología (AEU), the Societat Catalana d’Urologia (SCU), the Acadèmia de Ciències Mèdiques de Catalunya and its societies of Healthcare Management and Health and Gender, as well as a committed member of the Col·legi Oficial de Metges de Barcelona (COMB).
