With the Grand Départ of the Tour de France 2026, Barcelona will host the official presentation and the start of the most important cycling event in the world on July 2, 4, and 5.
This event will involve restrictions on traffic, public transport, and various urban services, especially in the districts of Horta-Guinardó and Eixample on Thursday, July 2, coinciding with the official presentation of the teams at the Modernist Complex of Sant Pau and around the Sagrada Família.
Fundació Puigvert will maintain its usual care activities, and visits, tests, and scheduled interventions will proceed as normal. Access to the center will be guaranteed for patients, companions, and professionals.
Access to Fundació Puigvert
All access to the center will be guaranteed during these days.
However, Thursday, July 2, will be the day with the most impact around Fundació Puigvert. For this reason, it is recommended to access the center via the entrance on Calle Cartagena, preferably from Calle Santa Carolina.
It should also be noted that logistical access via Calle Sant Antoni Maria Claret may be affected by mobility restrictions.
Mobility restrictions on Thursday, July 2
From the night of July 1 and, especially, from 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 2, there will be traffic cuts, parking prohibitions, and access limitations to parking lots around the Modernist Complex of Sant Pau and the Sagrada Família.
The period of greatest impact will be between 6:30 PM and 8:00 PM. During this time, mobility within the restricted perimeter will mainly be on foot. Traffic will gradually reopen from 9:30 PM.
Metro service disruptions
The metro service will also be affected on Thursday, July 2:
- L2 – Sagrada Família Station: trains will run without stopping from 1:00 PM until the end of the event.
- L5 – Sagrada Família Station: will be operational, but elevators will not be available. The Provença-Marina vestibule will be closed from 1:00 PM. Exit access will be through the Sardenya and Sagrada Família square vestibules, which may be restricted depending on passenger flow.
- L4 and L5 connection – Verdaguer Station: remains closed for improvement works until October.
The rest of the metro stations will operate normally.
Bus network disruptions
Several bus lines will be affected by mobility restrictions, with diversions or modifications to routes.
The main affected lines are: D50, H8, H10, V21, V23, 19, 33, 34, 47, 117, 191, 192, 100, and 101
Recommendations for July 2, 4, and 5
If you have a visit, test, or intervention scheduled at Fundació Puigvert during these days, we recommend:
- Planning your journey earlier than usual.
- Avoiding the use of private vehicles whenever possible.
- Prioritizing walking or public transport, considering the expected disruptions.
- Consulting the official channels of the Barcelona City Council and TMB regularly.
- Planning your route through Vull Anar or the TMB App.
- Following the instructions of staff and security personnel.
On July 4 and 5, there will also be mobility disruptions at various points in Barcelona due to the first stages of the Tour de France. Although the direct impact around Fundació Puigvert may be less than on July 2, these restrictions may cause delays in travel around the city.
Fundació Puigvert will continue to provide updates through its usual channels in the event of any relevant changes.
