This pioneering initiative, unique in Spain, consolidates the leadership of Fundaci\u00f3 Puigvert and UAB in specialized training in robotic urological surgery, a growing discipline that already represents 56% of robot-assisted surgical interventions in the country.<\/p>\n<p>The objective of this Chair, which was presented just a year ago, is to respond to the growing presence of robotic surgery in urology, promoting research, innovation, dissemination, and teaching, with the aim of facilitating the integration of the latest technological advances into medical practice for new generations. Robotic surgery has demonstrated significant advantages in terms of technical precision, reduction of complications, and improvement in patient recovery.<\/p>\n<p>The program, directed by <a href=\"https:\/\/fundaciopuigvert.org\/ca\/quadre_medic\/joan-palou-redorta\/\">Dr. Joan Palou<\/a> and co-directed by <a href=\"https:\/\/fundaciopuigvert.org\/ca\/quadre_medic\/alberto-breda\/\">Dr. Alberto Breda<\/a>, president of the Urological Robotics Section of the European Association of Urology (EAU), consisted of three modules that combined theory, attendance at live surgeries, and simulation practices. This methodology has provided students with advanced surgical skills in the most important urological procedures using robotic platforms.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Advanced practices at the UAB Veterinary Hospital in the third module<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>During the third and final module, which concluded a few days ago, students were able to perform advanced robotic surgery practices at the facilities of the UAB Veterinary Hospital, thanks to the collaboration of Dr. F\u00e9lix \u00c1ngel Garc\u00eda, professor of Animal Medicine and Surgery at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and a leading figure in the field of veterinary surgery. This collaboration has made it possible, for the first time, to perform robotic surgeries at this center, where participants have conducted radical and partial nephrectomies in pigs, acquiring skills in high-complexity procedures with state-of-the-art technology.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to its leaders, the course has included a whole teaching team of expert specialists from the same Foundation, coordinated by <a href=\"https:\/\/fundaciopuigvert.org\/ca\/quadre_medic\/andrea-gallioli\/\">Dr. Andrea Gallioli<\/a>, assistant of the Urology Service. In this first edition, the course has included students from different countries in Europe and Latin America.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>High-level surgical training for Urology residents<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>It is noteworthy that this training also includes final-year residents of the Urology specialty at Fundaci\u00f3 Puigvert, allowing them to complete high-level surgical training within the MIR training program that the institution offers them.<\/p>\n<p>Fundaci\u00f3 Puigvert, a pioneer in the introduction of robotic surgery in Spain and Europe, thus reaffirms its commitment to innovation, research, and teaching, contributing to the training of highly qualified professionals in a field that is changing the paradigm of urological surgery.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Palou states that with this program <strong>\u201cwe respond to a need for high-level specialized training, both for practicing urologists and for residents in training\u201d<\/strong>, emphasizing a reality: <strong>\u201cThe future is already here.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For his part, Dr. Breda emphasizes that <strong>\u201cat a time when multiple new robots are emerging, it is essential to offer training to new generations. And this is the first step towards the democratization of robotic surgery.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a
